The rains used to come in March
Nairobi, since 2024
GDC Foundation helps farming communities in Kenya understand a changing climate and answer it with what the land already knows how to do.
Everyone has heard of climate change. Few can plan a season around it
Small-scale farmers feel it first. The rains arrive late, stop early, or fall all at once. People know the weather has changed. The hard part is turning that into decisions: what to plant, when, and how to protect a harvest when the season no longer keeps its old promises.
That gap between knowing and doing is where we work.

Nature already holds many of the answers. We help people use them
We bring science, technology, policy and finance to the field, and we start from the rights of the people who live there
Nothing we do works alone. We partner with local groups, county governments, researchers and funders so that natural resources are used accountably, and so the people closest to them decide how.

“[ A farmer’s own words, recorded in the field. Real quote only ]”
What is learned in a village should reach the people writing policy, and what is known in research should reach the village in words people use. We build the channels that carry it both ways, and share them with organisations working toward the same thing.

Evidence gathered where the weather happens
Research and consultancy on climate resilience, sustainable development and community action, for governments, funders and organisations who need answers grounded in the field.
Three friends, three home communities, one worry
GDC Foundation began in 2024, when three friends saw the same thing happening to farmers at home: the climate had changed faster than the advice they were getting. We started the foundation to close that gap.
